Cut and cloth
What we make and how this site works
The trousers
We cut men's trousers for ordinary weeks. Dress trousers with a crease that survives the wash, chinos in cotton twill, casual trousers with give across the knee, shorts for warm months and a short run of five pocket denim. Across all of it we keep to two ideas: a waistband that gives as you sit, and cloth that recovers from being sat in.
The catalogue on this site runs to 27 styles covering waists from 30 to 60 inches. Sizes are two numbers, waist and inseam, and they mean the same thing in every section.
Why the site has no basket
This site is our catalogue. It is where you can read what a style is made of, see which waist and inseam pairings exist and work out which cut suits how you spend the day. The buying happens with our retail partner, who holds the stock, takes the payment and sends the parcel.
That split is deliberate and it is worth knowing before you click through. Anything to do with your order, your payment or your parcel is settled on their side, under their terms.
What we will tell you straight
Every number printed on this site is counted from the catalogue rather than written by hand. If a waist size is carried by one style, the page says one. If we have no record of whether a style is pleated, the page leaves that line out instead of guessing.
